• Management Accounting: The Programme is responsible for the management and monitoring of the Department’s budget, advice to the Department on resource requirements, policy priorities as well as possible pressures on current allocations, which may lead to under-expenditure, over-expenditure or delays in the implementation of essential projects.
  • Financial Services: The function is responsible for the correct recording and classification of expenditure, the production of financial statements, the reconciliation of the bank account transactions as well as maintenance and safe-keeping of all financial records. The programme also manages the financial systems (PERSAL and Basic Accounting System [BAS]), processes and ensures the production of timely, accurate, efficient and reliable financial reporting.
  • Supply Chain, Asset & Fleet Management: The programme aims to improve the procurement policies and processes, and is also responsible for the prudent management of moveable and immovable assets. It forms an integral part of financial management, and is a systematic process which ensures that goods and services are delivered to the correct place, at the right quantity, quality, cost and time.
