Easter Eggs for Thusong Childeren's Centre

MEC Gift van Staden of the Department of Social Development and HOD, Hendrina Samson visited the Thusong Children’s Centre on Thursday, 13 April 2017.

Smiles were seen on little faces as they could not hold in their excitement.
The HOD stated that one of the key goals of Department is to restore moral fibre in children.
They used the opportunity to hand out Easter Eggs to the children at the Centre and give them a sense of worth.
As well as to get the message across to them that they are being recognised and valued and that they are regarded as priority.

The Centre's manager, Mrs Masechaba Majola said there were 31 children living there, the youngest was nine years old while the oldest was 20.
She said most of them were brought by the police and referrals by our departmental social workers, she also expressed how thankful they are
to have the MEC visit the centre and hand out the Easter Eggs.

The MEC Van Staden gave a heartfelt message to the children,
“Jesus Christ who was God Himself in human form throughout the scripture teaches us how He values kids and as kids you should not be doubtful
even though your circumstances might be different from the others, you must never doubt God's love for you.”

He further stated that society needs to appreciate children and he concluded by saying that, “In Christ you have the power to overcome anything
despite the obstacles or challenges. Victory is In Christ.”
