The Gender and Transformation unit was invited by the Divine Outreach Centre, on the 8th March 2017. The gender and transformation was invited to celebrate the international women's day, with the divine outreach Centre, amongst the invitees was the representative from Department of Justice and Kagisho Day care centre for disabled children.
The celebrations were attended by most rural women including young men from around Galeshewe, Bloemanda area, the main objective of the celebrations was to award them with certificates of attendance for women empowerment programme self-esteem, amongst them was one elder woman who also received her certificate. “Thuto ga e golelwe”.
The gender and transformation manager made a short presentation on gender based and domestic violence, she further requested women to support each other rather than discouraging one another.The pastor alluded that women need each other in order to win the struggle gender inequality and women emancipation in all level of society. In conclusion, we need to involve the public in the debate, on that regard we will have a better understanding of the elements that prevent gender equality and the policies that will be able to counter them.
